I first saw this cool little product clamped to the top of a sheet-music stand and its obvious uses to the DJ industry screamed out to me...especially for those of you who work in clubs or run your own 10"mixer with two top-load CD player system. There are plenty of cases on the market to keep the components together and make transporting them as easy as possible in as little space as possible, but once you're at the party you quickly realize that there's rarely any illumination available for you to properly see what you're doing. Enter the Pedal Board Light from Mighty Bright. It'll clamp right on the back edge of the case and put light exactly where you need it!
The Pedal Board Light is a battery-powered, clamp-on, 4 LED (two red, two white), gooseneck adjustable lifesaver originally presented as an aid to guitarists (hence the name), but very adaptable to a wide variety of situations. The lenses of the light heads do more that simply protect the LEDs, they spread the light around so there's no 'hotspots', just a smooth halo of light across the surface of your work area. The white LEDs are mounted in one head and the red LEDs are mounted in the other. Each gooseneck-mounted head has a push button switch on top, you push once to get one LED and again to get both, and a third time to shut them off, this allows you to adjust the intensity of the light to suit your needs. The red LEDs are for maintaining your 'night vision' in a darkened room.

I took the Might Bright Pedal Board Light with me to Las Vegas to the Mobile Beat Magazine 2009 Mobile DJ Convention (MBLV'09), and we used the Might Bright Pedal Board Light on the sound board for the opening night party. As you can see from the picture, the sound board was much larger that what the average Mobile DJ would be using, but one PBL clamped in the centre of the case was all we needed to illuminate the entire board from side-to-side, albeit half red and half white. Perhaps one LED of each colour in each head could be a further "DJ" version of this great product? I will certainly be carrying the Might Bright Pedal Board Light in my bag of tricks from now on!
